JUST LIKE THE STOCK MARKET – OPTIMIST EUCHRE PLAYERS HIT A MAJOR DECLINE.

OSHAWA- Jan 21st. The stock exchange had ony losses on Monday. At the Monday Night Progressive Euchre party sponsored by the Optimist Club of Oshawa members the hit was just as big. The superstars had to move over to make room for the upstart new kids who have taken over from the old guard.

Since the start of the 30 game schedule back in October the quartet of Eloi Dalcourt,George Hagerty, John and Pat Brooks have dominated. Now the spot light had been re-directed to the upstart new kids on the block.

The challengers broke through in a big way at least for for one week anyway- Dalcourt fell from first in most important category – percentage points- dropping from lst overall, a leadership role he’s held for over a month to 12th place. For the first 16 weeks the Brooks-Hagerty-Brooks trioka have dominated most the other major categories.On Jan 21it was proven they aren’t untouchable. They are
human after all. Here are some perfect examples

Eloi Dalcourt
Dropped from first place in percentage a position he’s held for over a month to 12th place. He dominated at 736% but now stands at 620% A drop of 116% percentage points. He’s been replace atop the leaderboard by Miles Richardson with a mark of 727%.

John Brooks
Dropped from 12 place on Jan 14th to 31st place on Jan 21st managing only 43 points compared to 70 just a week earlier.He fell 27 points. That’s worst than any TSX drop.

George Hagerty
Wow-Wow-Wow …He really took a hit.After placing first on Jan 14 collecting 90 points he dropped 24 finishing deadlock in 12th on Jan 21st.

Pat Brooks
The likeable Bookeeper just hasn’t been at the top of game since her amazing quick start to open the season.She admits the “Good Cards” aren’t coming he way lately. Pat managed 56 points compared to a 73 a week early. A drop of 17 points. She still however occupies a three way share of 32 lone hands YTD with her buddies hubby John and Hagerty with 32 each. Miles Richardson has quietly taken the top rung with 33. Richardson is pressing hard and coming strong with overall total points of 1,018. Just a week early the Pat Brooks (1,070 pts), George Hagerty (1,076 pts) and John Brooks (1,033 pts) troika broke 1,000 point plateau.Richardson entered the 1,000 point mark on Jan. 21st He’s played two fewer games than the others

Gary Fossum Top Pointman With 95
Gary Fossum has served notice he’s going to a contender and not a pretender. Playing in only his 4th game this year this quiet man captured the $20.00 first place finishers money posting a brilliant 90 points including three lone hands. He wasn’t flashy just steady. His score was the third best this season. Back on Dec 10th Doug Irvine and Kevin Woodcock tied with at the 100 point mark. That Richardson guy again had 94 points on Oct 29th
