O.I. CLUB BUILDING SEMINAR HOPES FOR TWO NEW CLUBS
Oshawa, Nov2/3 – The two day Optimist Club Building seminar should proved fruitful by next Oct 1, 2008. Cenon Governor Brian Wick stated “we made a lot of in roads” on the weekend about starting two new clubs in Zone 8. Bowmaville and Newcastle are the possible new site. Only positive results came from the seminar hosted by the Optimist Club of Oshawa. Currently clubs reside in Ajax, Brooklin, Oshawa, Whitby and Uxbridge.
Led by highpowered Optimist International officials Jacques Pelland a senior executive members from OI Canada in Montreal Quebec, Brian Brewer director of new members and club building from head office in St. Louis Mo. and Sandy Larivee a certified Club Builder from Windsor, Ontario the committee can see plenty of potentional within the Durham Region.
Other Optimist in attendance included Whitby, Jimmy Dimitroff, Anthony Warren, George Clarke from Barrie, Linda Tuttle from Aurora/Newmarket. Oshawa representives included current president Stephen Hambley.Matthew Dykstra, Joseph Dryson, Terry Payette, Marg Ross, Carol Sargent and Jim Shaw.
