Oshawa Optimist Will Defend Chilli Cook Off Title
Oshawa, Nov 17.. The Oshawa Optimist Club are back at the annual D.R.P.S. (Durham Region Police Services) sponsored Chilli Cook-Off this year. Oshawa Optimist the defending champions are expecting a major challenge from twelve other organization. That “Dirty Dozen”will be attempting to unseed the Optimist during this friendly competition.
Major winner will be the two South Oshawa Food Banks -St.Peter’s Anglican Church and St. Phillips Catholic Church. Optimist Ann Doyle and last year’s club president Susan Machnik captured the laurels in the ‘06 event.
Machnik will be unable to attend this time. Her annual Las Vegas vacation occurs the same weekend. Doyle will be back. She’s recruited two reliable Optimist co-partners Mollie Olynik-Dryson and hubby Optimist Joe Dryson. The Dryson’s are superb cooks.
This event has been moved to a larger venue due to it’s increasing popularity – The G.L.Roberts Community Centre located at 1455 Cedar Street from 3 pm till 7 pm. Cost is $7.00 pp including FREE refreshments.
All customers are requested to bring a Non-perishable Food Product. Oshawa and Zone 8 Optimist are welcome to attend to cheer our team while enjoying 13 different types of Chilli all for the same cost. Eating time is between 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm.
