PERRINEAU SEEKING OSHAWA’S PRESIDENTS JOB FOR ‘08′09
OSHAWA- March 18.. Petrina Perrineau has announced she’s interesting in becoming the 2008-2009 Optimist Club of Oshawa Inc Members President.She made this announcement at the Membership meeting held at Optimist Headquarters (Southmead Park) on March 18th.
“I strongly believe in the Optimist movement and mandate of being a “Friend Of Youth” remarked Perrineau who has only been a Optimist for slightly over a year, If successfull, Perrineau would become the 4th female president since our club’s inception on July 22, 1982. Previously Lady Presidents were Angie Beal (1996), Jackie Bouillon (1998) and Lynn Dunstall (2003). Orginally the Optimist Club consisted of a all-male organization.Stephen Hambley is the current president.
Oshawa’s first lady member Carol Sargent said she would stand again as a director providing she’s elected. The 2008-2009 nominations are scheduled for Tuesday, April 15th. Other position open include a president elect, secretary, treasurer, 3 additionasl directors and a bullentin editor.
